About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Primary Teacher who has significant experience in working with pupils with social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and offering support and guidance to colleagues on SEMH provision.
You will teach children with significant SEMH needs, as well as offering advice and guidance to schools on supporting pupils with Emotional Barriers to School Attendance (EBSA) and other medical conditions that may be affecting their ability to attend school. You will lead on the design of tailored curriculums for individual pupils that can be delivered at home or in alternative settings, and will work closely with schools to create reintegration plans for pupils to support their transition back to school or onto other provisions. You will also have an important role to play in liaising with professionals from other agencies such as CAMHS and the School Health Service, to share information and to plan next steps.
About you
We are looking for a highly adaptive teacher who is experienced in working with pupils with SEMH and other special educational needs. You will demonstrate considerable knowledge and understanding of how best to meet the needs of pupils who experience significant mental health challenges and be able to apply this knowledge to break down barriers to learning. You will be confident in your ability to use your knowledge and experience to support and guide professionals from other schools.
It’s important that you bring a flexible and practically-minded approach to your work. It’s likely that you will work across more than one of our sites in any given week and you can expect to teach in a range of settings e.g. teaching in the pupils home, working with groups or on a one-to-one basis.
This role is anticipated to be a full-time appointment, but we will consider part-time arrangements for the right candidate.
