This is a new role within the school. This role will be the Whole School DSL and the DSL for our Leo Kelly School. They will be the strategic Lead for SEND from September 2023 and so should have skills and experience that are relevant to this responsibility. This role will be a key member of the Senior Leadership team and report directly to the Headteacher.
This person will be the Strategic Lead for Mental Health across Manchester Hospital School and will work alongside the other Lead Practitioners ensuring Mental Health is embedded in our curriculum, our culture and our people. Please note that this is a two-year contract in the first instance.
We now have a number of opportunities for talented secndary teachers to be part of the MHS team. We currently have opportunities in the following subjects:
Please note that (with the exception of the English Teacher role) these are two-year contracts. We will consider applications for part-time working.
Because of the unique nature of our school we encourage applications from teachers working in a Secondary or Special School setting: either of these would be a relevant professional background. However, staff need to be able to plan for SEND learners and plan bespoke timetables for individual pupils across all sites. This is why we offer SEND 1 point as part of the remuneration package.
It’s important that you bring a flexible and practically-minded approach to your work. It’s likely that you will work across more than one of our sites in any given week and you can expect to teach in a range of settings e.g. working with groups or on a one-to-one basis. Most roles are anticipated to be full-time appointments, but we will consider part-time arrangements for the best candidates.
We follow the values in the ethical leadership framework at Manchester Hospital School.
Manchester Hospital School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, younger learners and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. We follow safer recruitment procedures and all posts will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
These posts are also subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 and other pre-employment checks where applicable.
We are an Equal Opportunities Employer and we positively welcome applications from all candidates regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
